Οι The Rasmus αποτελούνται από τους Lauri Ylönen, Pauli Rantasalmi, Aki Hakala και Eero Heinonen. Δημιουργήθηκαν το 1994 στο Ελσίνκι της Φιλανδίας. Το 1996 κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο album τους "Peep", το οποίο ανέβηκε στα charts της Φιλανδίας και έγινε χρυσό. Τότε ο frontman Lauri ήταν μόνο 17 χρονών και η ξαφνική αυτή επιτυχία τον ανάγκασε να παρατήσει το σχολείο.
Οι The Rasmus έχουν κυκλοφορήσει συνολικά 7 studio albums. Για τον τελευταίο τους δίσκο "Black Roses" άντλησαν έμπνευση από την παραμονή τους στη Φολέγανδρο. Όπως είπε ο Lauri "στη Φολέγανδρο ήμασταν μακριά από τα πάντα, ήμασταν πολύ ήρεμοι και νιώθαμε σαν τα τραγούδια να μας έβγαιναν εντελώς φυσικά". Το "Black Roses" κυκλοφόρησε στις 29 Σεπτεμβρίου και στην παραγωγή του συμμετείχε ο Desmond Child, που έχει συνεργαστεί με ονόματα όπως Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper και Ricky Martin.
Οι στίχοι του"living in a world without you"λένε πολλά..και είναι από τα καλύτερα τραγούδια που εχω ακούσει ποτέ μου...
